Spirit Iluka

Where the sand meets the sea

Architect : DBI Architecture | Developer : Forise Group | Agency: Brash Brands | Location: Gold Coast, Australia

The Project

Located by the sea in Surfers Paradise on Australia's Gold Coast, Spirit is a 300-meter, 89-story luxury residential tower featuring rooftop pools, lounges, and restaurants with panoramic views of the beach on one side and the hinterland on the other. The development will also include 5 podium levels, offering boutique retail and dining options, as well as a 5-star hotel. Beneath these, there are 6 levels of basement car parking.

Surfers Paradise is the social, cultural, and entertainment hub of the Gold Coast. This vibrant area is a magnet for tourists, offering a quintessential “holiday” lifestyle.

The Design

The unique design of the tower emulates the rolling surf and undulating sand dunes of the nearby Main Beach. This results in a beautiful sweeping repetition in the form, creating a distinctive landmark for Surfers Paradise and allowing for large curved balconies that provide each apartment with excellent views.

The Film

To engage with potential investors, Minmud created a short film to showcase the luxurious residences and the unique offerings of this exceptional development. The film's style and coloring pay homage to the coastal aesthetics of the local region, featuring a palette of whites and blues with a hint of gold tones throughout.

Directed by: Lincoln Caplice | Producer: Tiberiu Panichi & Warren Keuning | DP: Toby Heslop

The Images

The images were crafted with a thoughtful approach. Minmud set out guidelines for the art direction, offering a unique style that created a contrast between the warmth of the interior and exterior lighting. This varied depending on the level of the specific amenity, creating a sense of height or groundedness depending on the viewer's perspective.
